Transfer Admission Requirements Spring 2025
Applies to: UW-Eau Claire, UW-Eau Claire – Barron County
Transfer Admission Guidelines
All applications receive a comprehensive review. Academic preparation and success are the primary considerations for admission, although nonacademic factors are also considered. Academic factors include GPA, intended major, and trend in grades. Nonacademic factors include student experience, work experience, leadership qualities, status as a nontraditional student, status as a veteran, or diversity in personal background or experience. Typically, a minimum GPA of 2.0 will be expected for admission consideration.
Other Guidelines for Admission Consideration
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA is required for admission.
This GPA is the minimum for consideration and does not guarantee admission. Please note that many programs have a competitive admissions process and admission to UWEC does not guarantee admission to a specific major.

SPECIAL NOTE FOR UW SYSTEM TRANSFER APPLICANTS (OPTION)
The UW System undergraduate transfer policy states that priority for admission will be given to two-year branch campuses transfers and other UW System transfers from campuses where a major is not available, subject to the limits of a campus’s enrollment target. All UW System campuses have Guaranteed Transfer agreements with the two-year branch campuses. Students admitted under these agreements should follow the requirements of the agreement. The stipulations of these agreements are not included in this listing.
