Campus Housing Information

Do you have students who want to live in a residence hall or other campus housing? Housing offers usually arrive after a student’s acceptance letter from the admissions office. Students should review it carefully and contact the campus housing office if they have questions. Then students should secure their spot as soon as possible.

Housing Deposits

Students need to reserve their spot with a deposit or prepayment. A deposit typically gets returned to students at the end of the school year if the they follow the rules of a campus housing contract. A prepayment gets applied to a student’s housing bill.

Students can apply for housing at each UW campus they’re considering. Be sure to read each school’s policy about refunding deposits and prepayments. To receive a refund, students must submit a written request to the campus housing office. They may receive a full or partial refund, depending on campus policy. The table below shows what different campuses require to reserve housing, including:

  • The amount of the deposit or prepayment
  • The deadline for canceling a housing contract if the student wishes to receive a refund
