UW-Stevens Point - Spring 2024 - UW HELP

Transfer Admission Requirements

Life happens and things change. We get that. Maybe you want to explore a new major not offered at your current campus. Or maybe you want to experience a bigger (or smaller) campus. Whatever the reason, a smooth transition is the goal. This section covers the admission requirements for transfer students. If you’ve enrolled at a college/university and now wish to attend a UW System campus, you’re in the right spot.

Transfer Admission Requirements Spring 2024

Applies to: UW-Stevens Point, UW-Stevens Point at Marshfield, UW-Stevens Point at Wausau

Transfer Admission Guidelines

All applications are reviewed on an individual basis with both academic and non-academic factors considered. Most transfer students admitted in recent years have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.25 on a 4.0 scale.

Students from the two-year UW campuses, MATC-Madison, MATC-Milwaukee, Nicolet College, Western Technical College, and Chippewa Valley Technical College with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher in 54 or more transferable credits will be eligible for automatic admission.

Other Guidelines for Admission Consideration

1) The GPA’s listed below are required for admission to the majors, NOT for admission to the University.
2) The GPA requirements listed below may be either the cumulative GPA or the GPA in the major only. Contact the department for further information.
3) Some programs have enrollment caps in effect. The GPA listed below for these programs is the MINIMUM required to apply and does not guarantee admission to the program.
