If you’ve enrolled at a college/university and now wish to attend a UW System campus, you’re in the right spot.

Transfer Admission Requirements Fall 2023

Applies to: UW-Platteville, UW-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County

Transfer Admission Guidelines

All applications receive a comprehensive review. Academic preparation is the primary criteria used in the admissions review process. Transfer students will be considered for admission if they have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00 or higher in transferable college coursework and are in good standing at the institution they are currently attending or have attended.

Minimum GPA Requirements for Admission Consideration to Specific Majors

Although students may be admitted to the university with a 2.0 cumulative GPA, higher grade point averages may be necessary for students who wish to enter the School of Education

All transfer students should consult with the department or program chair to clarify specific major/program requirements in the transfer.

All education majors need a 2.75 GPA average on a 30 credit minimum to be admitted to the university teacher education program. In order for students to be endorsed for certification in education, they must have earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 GPA or higher in the major(s), teaching minor(s), and professional education courses. Note: 3.00 required in professional education, major, and minor for elementary/middle (K-9) students. Please note GPA is calculated on UWP credits only. Credits earned during student teaching/interning cannot be used in calculating an overall GPA for endorsement purposes.

Grade of “C” or better in all required courses: ENGL 1130,  ENGL 1230, SPEECH 1010 or 2010 or equivalent, TCHG 1230, TCHG 2130 or equivalent, and a college level math course.
