Transfer Admission Requirements Fall 2021
Transfer Admission Guidelines
All applications receive a comprehensive review. Academic preparation and success are the primary considerations for admission, including the strength of prior college coursework, the rigor of curriculum and academic readiness, test scores, grade point average, academic goals, or other credentialing work. However nonacademic factors are also considered.
Other Guidelines for Admission Consideration
For program admissions see "Minimum GPA Requirements for Admission Consideration for Specific Majors"
Minimum GPA Requirements for Admission Consideration to Specific Majors
Applicants must be in good academic standing when last enrolled (2.0-2.5 minimum depending on the program). However, performance trends, professional experience, employment and associated responsibilities or achievements, the time elapsed since last enrolled and student goals are also considered.
Credit and Other Requirements for Admission Consideration
Applicants who have not completed college-level English or mathematics may be subject to placement testing (depending on program) prior to receiving an admission decision.
Anticipated Application Deadlines/Priority Dates
Applications open five months prior to the desired subscription period start date.
All application materials must be received at least one month in advance of the term start date.
All admitted transfer students must meet with their Academic Success Coach and confirm an approved Academic Plan of Study (APS) prior to registering.
Registration opens the month preceding the student’s intended subscription period start date.
The UW Flexible Option is an online, self-paced, competency-based program. Credit is awarded to meet accreditation requirements and to support transfer to other institutions. Terms (called subscription periods) begin each month and are approximately 12 weeks in length. Applications may be submitted as early as five months in advance of the desired term start date, with completed applications (and all supporting materials received) due at least one month prior to the subscription period start date.

Special Note for UW System Transfer Applicants (option)
The UW System undergraduate transfer policy states that priority for admission will be given to two-year branch campuses transfers and other UW System transfers from campuses where a major is not available, subject to the limits of a campus’s enrollment target. All UW System campuses have Guaranteed Transfer agreements with the two-year branch campuses. Students admitted under these agreements should follow the requirements of the agreement. The stipulations of these agreements are not included in this listing.
