I was poking around the Transfer Wisconsin website recently and found something that I didn’t know existed. I felt like I should share, in case you didn’t know, either.
But let’s back up. You might be wondering “What is Transfer Wisconsin?” It’s a website containing a whole lot of information about transferring to and from the UW System (UWS) campuses and the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) campuses.
Many people (myself included) use the site primarily to see how credits transfer among UWS and WTCS campuses. That’s the section called Course Credit Transfer Wizards. Students can see how the credits will transfer to their campus of destination before they even register for the course. The information contained in the website is guaranteed for courses that the student takes in the current or next semester. Students are encouraged to print or save a copy of the report for their records.
Here’s the section that I didn’t know existed: there is a page with resources for high school students! It’s a great help to those high school students who are already enrolling in college courses. There’s even a section about transferring credit from outside the UW System. Conveniently, there’s a link at the bottom of that page for the transfer contacts at each UW campus.
Now, a few highlights about the rest of the site. There are sections about:
- Transfer (also known as “Articulation”) Agreements among UWS and WTCS academic programs
- The Universal Credit Transfer Agreement, which provides listings of general education courses that are transferable among all UWS and WTCS campuses.
- Transfer Guides to make sure students are thinking about all the details involved in transferring from one campus to another
- Frequently Asked Questions
If you haven’t checked out the Transfer Wisconsin site in a while, I encourage you to reacquaint yourself with its vast resources.
