Agriculture/Science Courses

Agriculture/Science (Ag/Sci) high school courses that have been approved by DPI as high school science-equivalent units will be considered by UW System institutions as high school science units for admission purposes as indicated in the following table.

The high school transcript must indicate that the courses are recognized by DPI as meeting science units.

How will the DPI-approved Ag/Sci courses count for admission purposes?

UW Colleges

Completion of one or more approved Ag/Sci courses will count only as the 3rd unit of science as long as the student has taken some combination of biology/chemistry/physics for the other two units.

UW-Eau Claire

Completion of one or more Ag/Sci courses will count for no more than 1 science unit.

UW-Green Bay

Completion of one or more approved Ag/Sci courses will count only as the 3rd unit of science as long as the student has taken some combination of biology/chemistry/physics for the other two units.

UW-La Crosse

Completion of one or more approved Ag/Sci courses will count only as the 3rd unit of science as long as the student has taken some combination of biology/chemistry/physics for the other two units.

UW-Madison

Completion of one or more approved Ag/Sci courses will count only as the 3rd unit of science as long as the student has taken some combination of biology/chemistry/physics for the other two units.

UW-Milwaukee

Completion of one or more approved Ag/Sci courses will count only as the 3rd unit of science as long as the student has taken some combination of biology/chemistry/physics for the other two units.

UW-Oshkosh

Completion of one or more approved Ag/Sci courses will count only as the 3rd unit of science as long as the student has taken some combination of biology/chemistry/physics for the other two units.

UW-Parkside

Completion of one or more approved Ag/Sci courses will count only as the 3rd unit of science as long as the student has taken some combination of biology/chemistry/physics for the other two units.

UW-Platteville

Completion of one or more approved Ag/Sci courses will count only as the 3rd unit of science as long as the student has taken some combination of biology/chemistry/physics for the other two units.

UW-River Falls

Completion of one or more approved Ag/Sci courses will count only as the 3rd unit of science as long as the student has taken some combination of biology/chemistry/physics for the other two units.

UW-Stevens Point

Completion of one or more Ag/Sci courses will count for no more than 1 science unit.

UW-Stout

Completion of one or more approved Ag/Sci courses will count only as the 3rd unit of science as long as the student has taken some combination of biology/chemistry/physics for the other two units.

UW-Superior

Completion of one or more approved Ag/Sci courses will count only as the 3rd unit of science as long as the student has taken some combination of biology/chemistry/physics for the other two units.

UW-Whitewater

Completion of one or more Ag/Sci courses will count for no more than 1 science unit.
