Army ROTC is a program that provides college trained officers for the Regular U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve and the U. S. Army National Guard. Upon successful completion of military science and baccalaureate degree requirements, scholarship cadets will be commissioned as Second Lieutenants in the Active Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard. All ROTC graduates must serve in some capacity for eight years.
Army ROTC offers four-year, three-year and two-year scholarships, awarded strictly on merit, to the most outstanding students who apply. Scholarship preference is given to students seeking degrees in engineering, the physical sciences or nursing. A U.S. Army ROTC scholarship provides college tuition and mandatory educational fees up to $8,000 or 80% of total cost, whichever is higher, annually. Additional scholarships will assist in paying laboratory fees, textbook purchases, classroom supplies and equipment and some student fees such as transcript and graduation fees.
