Medical Services

Campus medical services are provided to all registered full-time students at the University of Wisconsin System campuses. Many services are offered free of charge; some services are offered for a nominal charge. The student health fee is automatically included in full-time student fees. Students enrolled for less than full-time may sometimes use campus health services if they pay the student health fee.

The following types of services are usually offered without charge or for a nominal fee: evaluation and treatment of illnesses and injuries, physical examinations, immunizations, minor surgical procedures, basic laboratory services, and health education programs and counseling.

Expenses such as hospitalization, emergency services, after hours visits, specialist care, dental visits, X-rays, pharmacy, and ambulance transport are not covered by the student health fee. Students are encouraged to obtain health insurance if they are not covered by a family health plan.
