Transfer Admission Requirements

University of Wisconsin-Superior ~ Fall 2009

Minimum Grade Point Average and Credit Requirements:

2.0 cumulative grade point average is the minimum requirement for admission.

Applicants must have earned 12 or more semester credits at an accredited institution to be considered, according to transfer policies. Applicants with fewer than 12 semester credits may be evaluated as new freshmen.

ACT is required only for transfers with fewer than 15 semester credits and less than 2.0 grade point average.

This grade point average is the minimum for consideration and does not guarantee admission. In some cases, the grade point average may be acceptable for admission to the institution without guaranteeing admission to the major.

Check the following list of majors and the corresponding minimum grade point average requirements which exceed the minimum for admission to the institution.

Majors Requiring a Higher Grade Point Average

2.30 Business
3.00 Education
2.30 Social Work

Please contact the admission office for more detailed information about course sequence, grade point average and other admission requirements.

Anticipated Application Deadline/Priority Dates:

Will admit until full.
Accepting applications on a rolling basis.

Registration Dates:

All transfer students register at the same time as continuing students. Date determined based on number of earned credits.

Institutions may be forced to modify requirements and dates listed above due to changing fiscal constraints.

Special Note for UW System Transfer Students

The UW System undergraduate transfer policy states that priority for admission will be given to UW College transfers and other UW System transfers from institutions where a major is not available, subject to the limits of an institution's enrollment target. All UW System institutions have Guaranteed Transfer agreements with the UW Colleges. Students admitted under these agreements should follow the requirements of the agreement. The stipulations of these agreements are not included in this listing.
