Transfer Admission Requirements

University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point ~ Fall 2009

Minimum Grade Point Average and Credit Requirements:

Priority 1
2.25

Priority 2 (Admission considered on individual basis)
2.0 All other majors

Applicants must have 12 or more transferable credits from an accredited institution to be considered for admission as transfer. Applicants with fewer than 12 credits must meet new freshman admission requirements.

Exception:

2.00 for UW Colleges, MATC-Madison, MATC-Milwaukee and Nicolet College transfers (excluding elementary, early childhood and exceptional education majors) with 54 transferable credits.

This grade point average is the minimum for consideration and does not guarantee admission. In some cases, the grade point average may be acceptable for admission to the institution without guaranteeing admission to the major.

Some programs have enrollment caps in effect. The GPA listed below for these programs in the MINIMUM required to apply for the program and does not guarantee admission to the program. Check with the head of the program to learn how enrollment caps may affect you.

Anticipated Application Deadline/Priority Dates:

Will admit until full.
Applications are accepted beginning 9/15/08.

Registration Dates:

All admitted transfers who have paid their deposit register with continuing students in April/May, based on the total number of earned credits. Late applicants will register during the summer.

Special Information:

Enrollment deposit for Fall 2009 is $100.

Institutions may be forced to modify the requirements and dates listed above due to changing fiscal constraints.

Special Note for UW System Transfer Students

The UW System undergraduate transfer policy states that priority for admission will be given to UW College transfers and other UW System transfers from institutions where a major is not available, subject to the limits of an institution's enrollment target. All UW System institutions have Guaranteed Transfer agreements with the UW Colleges. Students admitted under these agreements should follow the requirements of the agreement. The stipulations of these agreements are not included in this listing.
