Transfer Admission Requirements

University of Wisconsin-River Falls ~ Fall 2009

Minimum Grade Point Average and Credit Requirements:

Applications are given a comprehensive review.  The academic rigor of the college level courses taken and cumulative grade point average (GPA) are important indicators of the student’s ability to be successful in college.  The student’s high school record may be considered as well.  Nonacademic factors will also be considered and may include, but are not limited to, such things as leadership, community service, creativity, unique talents, and personal characteristics that contribute to the strength and diversity of the University.

Typically, successful applicants will have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.  Higher academic expectations or earlier application priority dates may be imposed on specific majors if necessary to keep enrollments in line with program capacities.

Higher priority will be given to students who have completed the equivalents to UW‑RF English Composition 100 & 200 (English Composition I & II), Math 146 (College Algebra) or higher math, Speech 101 (Fundamentals of Oral Communication) and Biology 100 or 150 (Intro. Biology or General Biology).

Priority may be given to UW Colleges, MATC-Madison, MATC-Milwaukee, Nicolet Area Tech, and Chippewa Valley Tech liberal arts transfers.

Special Note for UW System Transfer Students

The UW System undergraduate transfer policy states that priority for admission will be given to UW College transfers and other UW System transfers from institutions where a major is not available, subject to the limits of an institution's enrollment target. All UW System institutions have Guaranteed Transfer agreements with the UW Colleges. Students admitted under these agreements should follow the requirements of the agreement. The stipulations of these agreements are not included in this listing.
