Transfer Admission Requirements

University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh ~ Spring 2010

Minimum GPA and Credit Requirements:

Applicants with fewer than 30 attempted credits at an accredited campus must also submit an official high school transcript.

A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA is required for admission.

This GPA is the minimum required for consideration and does not guarantee admission. In some cases, the GPA may be acceptable for admission to the campus without guaranteeing admission to the major.

The following list shows majors and corresponding minimum GPA requirements that exceed the minimum for admission to the campus. The GPA requirements noted below may be for admission to, continuation in, and/or graduation from the program.

Majors Requiring a Higher Grade Point Average:

2.75 Athletic Training
2.5 Business
2.75 Criminal Justice
2.50 Economics (BBA Degree Only)
2.25 Economics (across major courses for BA and BS degree only)
2.75 Education (minimum 3.0 Student Teaching GPA for consideration)
2 Exercise and Fitness Management (2.75 major GPA) (2.25 internship GPA)
2.5 Human Services (2.75 major GPA and 65 credits completed for internship; 2.75 cumulative GPA and 3.0 major GPA for advanced internship)
2.5 Journalism
2.75 Medical Technology (minimum for consideration)
2.75 Nursing (minimum for consideration)
2.50 Radio/TV/Film
2.5 Social Work (2.75 graduation requirement)

Anticipated Application Deadlines/Priority Dates:

Applications are accepted beginning July 1, 2009.
The campus will admit until full.

Registration Dates:

All admitted transfer students register on assigned transfer registration dates.

The registration date is determined based on the number of earned credits.

Special Information:

Enrollment deposit is $100.

Admission requirements and date may be modified because of changing enrollment demands

Special Note for UW System Transfer Applicants:

The UW System undergraduate transfer policy states that priority for admission will be given to UW Colleges transfers and other UW System transfers from campuses where a major is not available, subject to the limits of a campus's enrollment target. All UW System campuses have Guaranteed Transfer agreements with the UW Colleges. Students admitted under these agreements should follow the requirements of the agreement. The stipulations of these agreements are not included in this listing.
