Transfer Admission Requirements

University of Wisconsin-Green Bay ~ Fall 2009

Minimum Grade Point Average and Credit Requirements:

2.50 cumulative grade point average is the minimum requirement for admission.
2.0-2.49 cumulative grade point average will be considered for admission.

Students with fewer than 15 transferable credits must also meet freshman admission requirements.

ACT scores are required for students who have not met the English requirement.

Exception to the Minimum Grade Point Average:

UW Colleges transfers with an Associate degree and a 2.0 grade point average or higher.

This grade point average is the minimum for consideration and does not guarantee admission. In some cases, the grade point average may be acceptable for admission to the institution without guaranteeing admission to the major.

Check the following list of majors and the corresponding minimum grade point average requirements which exceed the minimum for admission to the institution.

Majors Requiring a Higher Grade Point Average:

2.50 Accounting
2.50 Business
2.50 Communication
3.80 Education (3.30 is the average GPA for admission to the program.)
2.50 Nursing Completion Program
2.50 Social Work

Please contact the admission office for more detailed information about course sequence, grade point average and other admission requirements.

Anticipated Application Priority Dates:

The application priority date for Fall 2009 is 2/1/09.
Will admit until full.
Applications are accepted beginning 9/15/08.

Registration Dates:

Beginning: 4/6/09

Admitted transfer students register at the same time as continuing students. Students admitted after the early/priority registration assignments are made will receive registration procedures and will register on assigned transfer registration dates.

Institutions may be forced to modify the requirements and dates listed above due to changing fiscal constraints.

Special Note for UW System Transfer Students

The UW System undergraduate transfer policy states that priority for admission will be given to UW College transfers and other UW System transfers from institutions where a major is not available, subject to the limits of an institution's enrollment target. All UW System institutions have Guaranteed Transfer agreements with the UW Colleges. Students admitted under these agreements should follow the requirements of the agreement. The stipulations of these agreements are not included in this listing.
